Context

Third culture individuals are people who were raised in a culture other than their parents' or the culture of their country of nationality. Born in China and raised in China, Japan, the US, and Singapore with study abroad experiences in France, Italy, and Thailand, I have a unique yet confusing upbringing. In the ongoing webcomic series Third Culture Chinese, I explore identity crisis, culture shocks, language barriers, and many more aspects of being a third culture individual. The comic series aims to shed light on a population that has not received much exposure, and to de-stigmatize historically marginalized communities such as people of color and LGBTQ+ members.

The first book of the series, Third Cultured, was published on Amazon Kindle. The ongoing webcomics are updated on Webtoon and Instagram.
